SKILLS & DRILLS
Our Skills & Drills program is for players to work on improving their fundamentals in the off-season. The focus will be on improving players stick work by working on both hands with lots of reps and individual feedback. Players will also practice ground balls, shooting, dodging, defensive positioning and footwork as well as goalie positioning.
Players will be divided by age, skill level and position and we maintain a small player-to-coach ratio for an optimal learning environment. Our objective is to improve players as individuals focusing on skills and lacrosse IQ.
Our coaches are trained to monitor each player's progress and tailor a curriculum around the specific needs of each player. At our clinics we focus on:
Helping a player quickly move the ball using both hands.
Improving endurance, balance, timing, creativity, strength, and personal confidence.
Improving players' technical stick work and position footwork and mechanics of advanced moves which will complement their tactical and teamwork skills.
Boosting game performance and team play.
Maintaining a fun and competitive environment.
The Mass Select Lacrosse Academy Coaching Staff focuses on individual player development. Our coaching staff emphasizes the importance of becoming an outstanding student athlete, developing impeccable character, and leadership skills. We also focus on the importance of players developing a great attitude, great work ethic, and a student mentality. Our players learn how to play and practice using proper technique, team first approach to lacrosse and remarkable sportsmanship.
Once signed up for a clinic, all players are expected to be committed to attending scheduled clinics. All players are asked to practice and play with a great attitude, great intensity, and hustle. All players are to be respectful, conduct themselves in a courteous manner, and practice great sportsmanship at all practices, scrimmages and games. Lastly all players must have fun!
