Mass Select Lacrosse 2018 Summer Camp
Mass Select Lacrosse Academy has developed a summer lacrosse camp to be held July 24th-July 27th. This camp has three age groups: K-2nd grade (9am to 11am), 3rd-8th grade (9am-1pm), 9th-12th grade (5:30-7:30pm).
Players will be grouped by size, age and ability. After some opening drills, coaches will reevaluate the best groupings based on the ability of the players and may move players to different groups based on their progression during the camp.
Our focus is to provide a fun lacrosse experience for every player. We coach individual offensive and defensive skills, team concepts, and strategy. Mass Select’s summer camp is created around an upbeat and positive environment that will allow the players to be challenged and learn new skills while having a amazing overall camp experience.
Our camp is designed to be fun, educational, and competitive for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players. Each player will receive the coaching they need that will increase their lacrosse IQ and make them an overall better player.
Beginners will be coached on the basic techniques and fundamentals of lacrosse - rules of the game, catching, throwing, ground balls, dodging, shooting, footwork and defense. Campers will enjoy learning through creative drills and games.
Intermediate players will go a step further to develop a broader understanding of the game of lacrosse. Campers will be introduced to some advanced techniques as well as a refresh of their fundamental skills. They will also be challenged to think of the game from a team mindset.
Advanced players will hone their skills in a competitive, but constructive environment. Coaches will work with these players to develop specific techniques as well as improve their overall lacrosse knowledge, which is necessary to continue at the next level.
